| Length of appointment | For 2026-2027, one year, with up to two further years contingent on institutional finances and scholarly progress |
| Citizenship requirements | None |
| Doctoral degree requirements | For 2026-2027 applications: MD or DO degree required |
| Faculty appointment | Minimum: Instructor appointment at VUMC |
| Research focus | Basic, translational, or clinical |
| Primary mentor faculty appointment requirement | Primary mentor must be Vanderbilt faculty (VUMC or VU) |
1 All scholars will be reimbursed for salary and supply costs based on their current salaries. Salary and research funds will be transferred as they are spent.
