Many investigators at Vanderbilt have or know trainees eligible for minority supplements from NIH.  Others are interested in working with a trainee or early career faculty member at a minority-serving institution who would be eligible, but whom they are not yet collaborating.  These supplements to your grant provide considerable salary support—up to the NRSA stipend limit for graduate students and postdocs, or the NIH career development award salary cap for junior faculty—for trainees and investigators from groups that are underrepresented in research.  You can support a trainee for the entirety of your R01, while early career investigators can be supported for two years at 75% time.

Please join us for a panel discussion of these supplements, including the benefits of receiving one and how to apply.
