The 18th Annual Visiting Scholar’s Day Dinner will be held on June 22, 2017, in the Commons Center on the Peabody campus. Our guest will be Janice L. Gabrilove, MD, Director of Clinical Research Education Programs at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai, Associate Director of Education and Training for the Tisch Cancer Institute, and James F. Holland Professor of Medicine and Oncologic Sciences.
She is nationally recognized for her dedication and success in mentoring and for her contributions to the national dialogue about career development for translational scientists. Likewise her research has been exceptional. Her discovery of human granulocyte colony stimulating factor transformed the performance of bone-marrow transplantation and alleviated certain harmful effects of chemotherapy on blood-cell production.
In addition to giving her keynote talk at dinner, Dr. Gabrilove will meet with small groups during the day. More details, including how to sign up for a small group meeting, will come closer to the event.
