Dr. Hartmann is an epidemiologist with experience in large cohorts, behavioral interventions, clinical trials, assessment of medical tests, and teaching quantitative methods. Much of her primary research focuses on getting answers that matter to women and their care providers related to adverse pregnancy outcomes, uterine fibroids, pelvic floor disorders, and thyroid disease. She also serves in cross-cutting roles in policy-relevant areas including health services, health outcomes, evidence-based practice, systematic reviews, cost analysis, informed medical decision-making, and comparative effectiveness.
